OPM group eyes investment for growth

by Julia Ford

A Leeds based firm have experienced double digit growth and are looking to expand operations from their headquarters in Towngate’s Gelderd Road property.

OPM Group, who have taken out a 10 year lease at Towngate’s Gelderd Road property ‘The Colour Box’, have experienced double digit growth with turnover topping £10.5m in 2014/15. The company is predicting turnover of £12m in 2015/16, which they are hoping will help drive more sales and further expansion.

Their move to Leeds from their previous bases in Keighley and Bradford has certainly helped, with a spot on the M62 corridor helping them expand the business and reduce logistical costs. The growth has also been due to new client acquisitions, including major supermarket ASDA. The company, owned by husband and wife team Chris and Susan Ellison, has seen themselves listed as one of the retailer’s approved suppliers.

The Ellison’s said, “We’re a leaner and more efficient business but most importantly we are perceived in the market place as a different business. It’s not just the new building. The location is attracting business from clients that would have been reluctant to come and see us when we were based over two sites in Keighley and Bradford. OPM has a variety of clients based in London, along the spine of the country and Europe so logistically we are now easier to reach via road networks, train or air.”

Since their move to Gelderd Road the couple have invested over £100,000 in new equipment, including an in-house repro facility and new presses in order to make them more efficient.
