MEET THE TEAM – An Integral Member of Towngate’s Team, Dina Mistry Reveals the Best Advice She Was Ever Given…

by Julia Ford

Here we have the pleasure of 60 seconds with Dina Mistry – Towngate’s secretarial assistant takes a turn in the spotlight this month. Here, she delves deeper into her current role, passion for travel, and the best advice she was ever given. Dina, your 60 seconds start now…

1. What’s your favourite element of your role at Towngate?

Working within such a brilliant team. It’s not always the case that colleagues get on just as well outside of work as they do inside, so I feel privileged that it’s that’s way here at Towngate.

2. What’s your biggest work achievement to date?

Supporting the Towngate team and business throughout a challenging period during the Covid-19 pandemic. Being a close-knit group, it wasn’t an easy transition for us to begin working from our own homes, but we pulled together and came out of the other side even stronger.

3. Name one thing people might not know about you.

It’s certainly not a secret for those who know me well. In fact, it’s often the butt of many a joke, but I cannot eat anything red. My colleagues love it when we have team meals out and this has to be noted down as a dietary requirement!

4. What one word would you use to describe the property sector?

Varied!

5. Describe what you get up to on a typical weekend.

There is nothing I enjoy more than spending time with family and friends, especially when it involves good food and wine — not red, obviously!

6. If one of your colleagues could win an award (work or ‘fun’) who would it be and why?

Our chairman, David Smith, who is truly an inspiration to me. He’s loyal, hardworking, caring, and so genuine.

7. If you were in charge of Towngate for the day, what would be your number one rule/objective/goal?

We are surrounded by beautiful parkland here in Brighouse, but if I could pick Woodvale House up and move it to a warmer country, I would!

8. Describe your job to an alien.

Sitting on reception means being the face of Towngate — and one of the first people visitors see when they walk into the office . This means always setting the best possible example of the company. In a nutshell though, my role is to provide support and assistance to the chairman, directors, managers, and other staff members.

9. If you could trade places with anyone in the world for a day, who would you choose?

Jane McDonald. Being paid to travel the world? That’s the dream!

10. What’s the best advice you were ever given?

To live life to the fullest. I certainly try to live by this mantra and love to jet off and see the world at any opportunity.
